On December 15, 2021, Michael Voros, Branch Manager of Ladner Envision brought in a cheque for $24,073 to support REACH. Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union, pledged to donate $2 for each valid member vote cast online, by telephone or by text message—and members who voted were able to choose where they’d like their vote donation to go, from a shortlist of local charitable organizations. Because of an excellent member turnout for the vote, just over $97,000 was generated for local charities; however, First West topped up the total donation amount to $250,000. Reach Child and Youth Development Society (REACH) received a donation of $24,073 as one of the non-profits supported by this generosity. REACH Executive Director Renie D’Aquila reports that the funds will support counselling and mental health for families at REACH. “Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude to Envision and First West Credit Union and its members for such a significant donation to REACH and our counselling program” she said.
